Calendar Event Details:
Event: STEMPTA is assisting Kosta Fetfatsidis to restart a STEM program for our students. Initial enrollment will be open to grades 1-6 to gauge interest. Age groups will need a healthy amount of participants for the program to be successful so final STEM groups are still TBD, you will be contacted if your student group is impacted by low numbers. If you previously signed up on the Google form, please complete this enrollment now instead.
· Enrollment is open for grades 1-6
· The program is a 12-week commitment and there are no drop-ins
· Students will be put in teams and work on a course-long project, with a final fair/competition at the end where parents can come check out what the students have done
· Classes are each Wednesday from 330p-430p. This is not part of the After School Program so students are expected to be picked up promptly at the end of class
· Program starts Wednesday, January 17th ending Wednesday, April 10th (accounting for vacation days, early release days, etc.)
· Maximum enrollment of 24 students per group (register ASAP so we can assess if additional groups/sessions need to be added)
· Enrollment ends 12/30
· $120 per student for a 12-week course or $60 per student if already enrolled in the HAA After School Program
Kosta is donating his expertise and initial resources but enrollment is set at $120 per student (half-off discount for After School enrolled students) for the 12-week program to offset the cost of additional supplies and/or miscellaneous items needed (eg prizes, additional kits, fair needs).
